Cooperation Protocol between Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) and RomAfrica Film Festival (RAFF) during Cannes Festival 2016

While attending the current Cannes Festival, the management of Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) has reached a cooperation and a collaboration agreement with RomAfrica Film Festival (RAFF). The protocol in its final form will be signed in a special event during the next edition of RAFF due 13-16 July 2016. LAFF President Sayed Fouad and LAFF director Azza Elhosseiny have finalized all the details of the protocol with RAFF President Domingo Petrolo and RAFF Artistic Director Antonio Flamini at the Pavilion of Italian Cinema in Cannes' Majestic Hotel during a joint press conference attended by Italian and international press. The conference was followed by another meeting with RAFF Artistic Director at the Egyptian Pavilion in Cannes' Riviera, which is the headquarter of Egyptian Film Festivals (Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor African Film Festivals).

The protocol includes an exchange of the winning films at both RAFF and LAFF in addition to the organization of joint events in Luxor and Rome. In that context, Attiea Dardeer, the head of LAFF viewing committees, has revealed that LAFF will screen a series of films in RAFF's next edition including the Egyptian WE HAVE NEVER BEEN KIDS, the Nigerian MONA and  the Rwandan BLACK DAYS. The latter was co-produced by LAFF's Etisal Fund. Italian film experts will also be invited to teach artistic workshops during the 6th edition of LAFF due 16-22 March, 2017 in the presence of both RAFF President and Artistic Director.
